Google Chromium OS An Open Source operating System

Google Chromium OS is available as source code, which you can download and compile by yourself to create an image file compatible with any virtual machine solution, such as VMware or VirtualBox. It’s based on Linux, starts up in seconds and is mainly designed for the Web.

This is exactly the most outstanding feature in Google Chromium OS. In Google Chromium OS everything is web-based, or if you prefer it, in “the Cloud”. It is meant to be used with online web application and you will store all your files online. That’s what makes it so fast and lightweight: the OS doesn’t need to install anything on your computer, because you can access everything online.

This is the perfect Operating System for low-spec computers like notebooks. After logging in with your Gmail account, you are ready to start. Google Chromium OS may look a bit peculiar at first, but it’s also very intuitive. Peculiar because it’s completely different from any OS you may have tried so far – it’s just a web browser –, and intuitive because a web browser is where we spend most of the time on any other OS, so there’s no learning curve at all.

Google Chromium OS is certainly a revolutionary operating system that challenges us users to change our image of computers, and the way we’ve been using them so far.

On demand indexing

I have got in touch with interesting Google’s services.

Google Site Search

Google Site Search offers you On-Demand Indexing to easily get your pages indexed into your Google Site Search within 24 hours. Your customers will benefit from an updated website!

Google Site Search: Don’t like waiting?

On demand indexing In Google CSE

On-Demand Indexing uses a special index that is designed just for Custom Search. The main Google search indexing process is separate and uses different selection criteria, so submitting pages for On-Demand Indexing will not make them appear any faster in the main Google index, or impact ranking on Google.com. For more information on On-Demand Indexing, as well as the allocation per CSE , see how to how to on demand indexing.

Google Custom Search

This is good feature of google’s to add custom search engine to your business website. With Google Custom Search, you can harness the power of Google to create a customized search experience for your own website.

* Include one or more websites, or specific web pages
* Host the search box and results on your own website
* Customize the look and feel of the results to match your site

Latest Windows ads parodied in Web video

With three genuine installments on the Web, it’s naturally time for the parodies of Microsoft’s “laptop hunter” ads to start rolling in.

The first one I’ve seen is from LandlineTV. It features Frank, a homeless guy with $1,000 to spend on a laptop.

Frank’s first stop is the Apple store.

“These are beautiful,” he says, spotting a MacBook Air that is “so thin” but costs $1,700.

“What can I get for $1,000?” Frank asks. Eventually, he winds up in front of a Windows PC.

“Windows Vista Home Premium…This is (BS),” Frank says.

“Is this plastic?” he asks, before noting that the computer has “second-rate Korean components.”

In the end, he uses the Windows laptop to cover his face while sleeping on the street. I’ve embedded the video below, but you should click play only if you don’t mind some coarse language, partial nudity, and complete PC bashing.

Microsoft, for its part, declined to comment on the parody. As for Landline, it is a three-person outfit that has been doing Web video since September. Among its earlier videos was one called “Hockey Moms for Truth.”

“We’re sort of a Saturday Night Live meets the Twitter Age,” CEO Jared Neumark said in an e-mail interview. Neumark said the company aims to crank out about two videos per week.

Application to produce your baby online

I came across this cool application that allows you to create your baby by combing the photos of mom and dad. Its a viral ad for VW.com It’s hard to figure out the connection between the concept of this ad and the car company. But it does get your attention. I also found this application to be too slow.

Design+Art+Advertising

These are some great examples of posters urging viewers to go and vote. It is something that we as designers do not do so often. We simply take a conservative approach and do not go out of the way to explore more Artistic options.  View this site– http://abduzeedo.com/inspiration-to-vote for more amazing posters
